My dog is genuinely terrified of nail trims. Will this work?
It gives you a better chance than clippers, because there's no pinch and no single scary moment. But go slowly — a dog with a bad history needs several short, boring sessions before they'll sit for a full trim. Rushing it undoes the progress.

Will it work on a big dog with thick black nails?
Yes, and black nails are exactly where the LEDs earn their place — you can't see the quick from the outside on a dark nail, which is why most accidents happen on them.

How often should I use it?
Every two to three weeks. Little and often keeps the quick receding; long gaps let it grow forward, which is what makes trims risky in the first place.

Is it loud?
It's a quiet motor, but it isn't silent — it hums. Most dogs settle once they've heard it a few times without it touching them.
